Players take turns moving pieces according to standard chess rules. Click or tap a piece to select it, then choose a highlighted square to move. The core goal is to outmaneuver your opponent and put their king in checkmate. Mastering Elite Chess gameplay involves strategic planning, controlling the board's center, and anticipating your rival's moves to secure victory.

Desktop Controls:
• Mouse: Left-click to select a piece and then left-click on a valid destination square to move.
• Keyboard Shortcuts: Press 'Z' to undo a move or 'R' to reset the board to the initial position.
• Spacebar: Offer a draw to your opponent (in multiplayer modes).
• Enter/Return: Confirm promotion to a Queen when a pawn reaches the back rank.

Mobile/Touchscreen Controls:
